Best exhibitions I have seen

I really loved the exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City during my visit in July 2015.
The whole experience in the museum is different from any other that I know, as the exhibitions are really exposed, you can be at just inches from iconic paintings & sculptures. If on top of that you add the interactive spots in the museum 6-story building, like the videogames exposition when you can control all time classics and discover the beauty behind them, the joy is complete.

Beside the famous Campbell’s cans & the Marilyn Monroe pop art paintings, I got to see the first Yoko Ono’s exhibition at MoMA which included audiovisual stuff, pictures, photographies and objects like the “Apple” and the “White Chess”. Also, a really cool exhibition about the evolution of every-day usage items such as the TV, the radio, and more contemporary forms of iconography that we use all-day like the “@” sign, or the Google Maps’ red pin.

If you like the most traditional art, it also includes paintings from Jackson Pollock,
Pablo Picasso & Vincent Van Gogh among others. Definitely all of them are the more
amazing stuff that I got to see in any museum or galleries.

An Expert on my Field

One of the favorite journalists is Simon Kuper. He was born in 1969 in Kampala (Uganda), but he grew living in London, the United States, Sweden, Holland and Jamaica.

He has studies in some of the greatest universities of the globe: Harvard University, Oxford University & the Technische Universitat in Berlin. Part of his work includes books like "Football Against the Enemy", "Ajax, the dutch, the war: Football in Europe during the Second World War" and "Soccernomics".

With his work on "Football against the Enemy" he was awarded with the William Hill Sportbook of the Year in 1994, and also recognized by the famous "Four Four Two" magazine as the "Best Football Book in History".

What I like about his works is that he mix the sports with other subjects like economy, politics, culture & history. Furthermore, I really admire his passion about the field, as he has been traveling around the globe to document and explore how does the business of football works.

Today, he works for the Financial Times (United Kingdom) and as a speaker in different universities and conferences.

My Favorite Movie

This is an easy one, my favorite movie is “The Godfather” (1972). To know how good is it, you just need to do a quick look to the cast:  Marlon Brando as Vito Corleone, Al Pacino as Michael, James Caan as Sonny, Robert Duvall as Tom Hagen, Diane Keaton as Kay Adams and many other legends.

The movie starts on the summer of 1945 in New York City, when Don Vito’s daughter, Connie and Carlo Rizzi get married. This leads to the introduction of Don Vito, also known as “Godfather”, as the head of the mob Corleone Mafia and Michael Corleone as the complete opposite of his father: a condecorated World War II Marine hero.

While Michael doesn’t wants to involve in the family business, his father is dealing with the time passing as other of the big mafia families, the Sollozzo, wants to start selling drugs and asks the godfather for influences. Against the advice of his lawyer, Tom Hagen, the godfather rejects the offer, starting a mob war between the families, which leads to an attack to the Don that he barely survives to. With his father in the hospital, Michael comes to the realization of his destiny and starts to run the family to defend it from a war with terrible consequences.

As a sidenote, my favorite part is when Sonny beats his brother-in-law after finding he has been beating Connie.

I would definitely keep all the movie as it is, is just perfect.

A photograph I like

This photograph is one of my favorites. In it you can see Pelé and Bobby Moore in the quarterfinals of the World Cup 1970. Pelé played for the national team of Brazil and Bobby Moore for the England national team.

I would really like football, and I think this photograph is much that must mean soccer as the most popular sport in the world. Although the match was very important for both players, they are very respectful in the picture.

Although Booby Moore want to take the ball to Pelé, Moore does not touch or hit. Not me who took the picture and although is not a famous famous pictures, for me is the one that best represents what it is soccer.

One of the fun facts about this photo is that Pele wrote a letter to a Brazilian journalist where he talks about the picture. This letter said:

"Dear brother Armando:

If ever deescribes this action with Booby More in your book "Crystal Ball", you could say that we were being too friendly to be in the quarterfinals of a World Cup, but the sport is that.

Your friend, Pelé. "

For images like this it is that football is the beautiful game.

My Favorite Festivities

I do not really like the festivities. I do not like that it seems silly to celebrate because it's a particular date. This is why I do not really like the September 18 or May 21.

But one that I like is Christmas. I like it because the whole family is together, eat a delicious dinner and all have gifts. Christmas is celebrated every December 25. The origin of this festival is because that day Jesus was born in Belen.

I do not know why, but many other cultures have celebrations on December 25. For example, the Incas celebrated the birth of Inti and the Aztecs celebrated the birth of her god of war.

In this festivitie I'm usually stay with my family. When I was younger, after 12 at night I went with my parents to play with toys at the house of my cousins. But now, all the cousins are older and not do that since ten years ago. I think when one is younger Christmas is more important, because you believe in Santa Claus and you really want have a lot of gifts.

My favorite piece of Technology

I really like technology. I try to read on the internet about all the new technology from companys like Apple, Samsumng or Nikon. Even I like all the technology, my favourite are the videocams.

I have two video cameras that use a lot. One is the Nikon D5100. It is a DSLR that records video in high resolution, which helps me a lot because I like making videos and then upload them to youtube. This camera's have over 2 years and also helped me to do some homework on television subjects that I have in university.

My other camera is a GoPro Hero 4 Silver. This is an action camera, so it is very small and allows me to record videos when I ride on bike. Also, I can use it in places where it would be uncomfortable to use my DSLR. This camera is new, beacause i the purchase in past December.

Another article that I use to record video is an AR Drone that my brother gave me. The drones are small flying helicopters. I can record the things from the air. Usually I go to the Estadio Nacional and recorded from a height of 20 meters. It's very entertaining to use and is one of my favorites technology things.

Expectations for a new semester

My expectations for this semester is make progress whit my thesis about "womans in television" because is a very important investigation and I have until november to finish them.

Also, I want have good grades in the class of Television, because in the future I want to work in a tv channel, so I want to learn a lot about how to make tv shows and news bulletin. In the others subject I only want to pass.

In last, I really want to do my profesional practice, so I am looking the offers of tv channels like TVN or Canal 13. If this is not possible, I want to work in a coffe shop, a book store or something like that for have more money and can buy me a scooter.
